I know you've been waiting on this for a while. So it's finally time for you to start building your store first things first. We have partnered with Shopify to give you guys a crazy discount. It's gonna cost you around 20 to 40 dollars per month. In this case. You only pay one dollar for the first three months so you don't have to worry about the expense of Shopify for the first three months. Now, it's gonna ask you to enter your email address. The first thing I actually recommend that you do is create another Gmail account. This is where you're gonna manage your business from just where all your customer inquires are gonna come into. So just go ahead and create that real quick. I'm gonna do that off camera so you don't see the password but that's gonna be step number one. Make sure to name it after your business. If you want help with the name. Typically your domain name is gonna be taken so you could do you could do the name and see if it's available. So what we typically do if the name is not available you can do. Shop excursa, or you can do expresso USA. That should probably be available boom. So that's what we'll do. If we can't get the actual domain name. I'm gonna create this and I'll be back in half a second. All right. Boom now, we got our email set up. So we're gonna go ahead and plug that into the free trial Section. And as for these questions, you can answer them as accurately as possible. So I'm just starting. I'm doing an online store. I'm Drop Shipping. Do I have an online following? No, and we can name our story. So we're gonna name it excursa. This might be taken. It might not boom put your region. A lot of people ask me questions about other countries in the laws and the regulations of other countries. Those questions are very difficult for me to answer. I've lived in the United States my whole life. So if you guys have questions like that about building a business like this in other countries, I would advise doing research on YouTube or in different forms or on Reddit and trying to find the answers there because I can't give you advice based on you living in another country. Let's continue with this so United States and then boom we're gonna go ahead and set up our Shopify ID. Now. I Shopify store is being created and it only took us like 30 seconds to get that started and the real challenge begins. Once this loading screen is done. We're gonna go through and first put all the essential settings for our store. This advice is typically for the United States people but a lot of these principles are gonna be the exact same so you can set them up accordingly to how I'm When it and then make sure that this is the proper way to do it for your place. Hey, you got your Shopify store set up and we're gonna turn into something amazing. But the first thing we need to do is build your settings properly. So let's go to the settings tab. And the first thing we're going to adjust is the shipping and delivery section. Now, I've already been messing around with this. So yours might look a little different but we're gonna click on the manage button and we're going to start setting up shipping rates for the markets that we want to sell to for. Most people you're going to primarily be selling to four main locations. That's gonna be United States Canada United Kingdom and Australia shipping from China to other countries around the world can get expensive and it can take an extremely long time. So that's why these are the four main markets. I like to focus on if you're using tiktok to advertise. You can only use United States and Canada. So these are the main ones you want to set up if there are more you want to set up I'll show you Do that, but for now, let's set up shipping for these big four countries. We're gonna go ahead and click create Zone and we're going to go ahead and select these different options. So we have Australia we have United. Let me scroll through the United States and then we have United Kingdom. And then we have Canada. All right. So we're gonna call this big four and we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna click done. Now at the moment, there are no shipping rates. So if I were to go to this website right now and try to purchase it wouldn't let me because it says there are no available shipping to your destination. So we're gonna go ahead and add some race right now. There are two rates that I like to use on most stores. There's gonna be standard. Shipping we can actually put that as free standard shipping. Okay, and for that the price is obvious gonna be zero. Well we can do as well to increase our customer satisfaction and decrease customer emails and complaints and stuff like that as we can actually put the time frame that's going to take for the order to arrive. Or you cannot put that and you're going to see a little bit of a higher conversion rate, but just understand that I think personally it's better to communicate directly with your customer. So we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna put done right there. Now if we click on ADD Ray again, we can go and we can do premium insured shipping. We're gonna put one in two weeks. And for this one, we're gonna charge five dollars and you're saying why would I have a paid shipping option aren't people gonna go for the free option. You'll be surprised that most people are actually gonna go for this option because they see the insurance. They see that it's a little bit faster. They see that it's premium and this five dollar bonus is going to actually help you scale much easier because it's going to add to your bottom line. So I've always done this and it's worked extremely well for me. So make sure to set this up and again, you don't have to include the time it's going to actually get you more sales if you don't include the time, but if you want to be honest with your customers and be transparent from the beginning I recommend adding the time so we're gonna click done there. Then we're gonna go ahead and click save. so now we have shipping zones established for these big four countries. But as you can see these countries these customers within this are not going to be able to check out because they are inactive. So the way that we make them active as we go to the market section. Okay, and then we go ahead and we click on ADD market and we can do this again. We can put big four and we can put Canada. We can put Australia. And we can put United. Kingdom and then boom now once we click save anybody that is in these locations is now able to go through and purchase from us. So that's going to be people that are in Australia Canada United Community United States and they're gonna see these shipping options available. Now, let's say you live in Italy and you want to build a Shopify store Focus specifically on products for people in Italy. You can do the same exact process. Go to markets find your country enable your country create a shipping Zone and you're done. I honestly recommend some of you guys who live in these European countries to create stores within your native language and sell to that market. This is actually going to be one of the best opportunities because there's less competition than the United States. So if English is not your first language and you are in a different Market, maybe consider that as an option, but for now, let's keep setting up the rest of our settings for this store. One of the things people ask me about the most are taxes. Now, if you're making no money whatsoever. It doesn't really matter that much about being super super organized and making sure that everything is going to be done properly for your end of year taxes because you're making no money. It doesn't matter. I would advise you to find a professional in your area that will help you establish the proper strategy and make sure things are done effectively. Well from what I've learned. The people that live in the United States only have to collect sales tax within the state that they are doing business from so in this case, we're going to go through and we're going to set that up specifically for our situation again tax rules are always changing laws are always changing. So I don't want you guys to just take this as a rule of thumb you might want to go and you might want to do this specifically for your Market itself. So let me go ahead and go to the United States. and right here States for collecting in so basically you want to go to taxes and duties you want to go to United States. And this is only for the US. I literally cannot speak to other countries. I don't know about y'all's rules over there. But this is what I did and I've never been in trouble from the government. So hit start collecting go and go ahead and pick your place. I'm in Florida and you can just literally start collecting tax gonna ask you for your ID. But again at this stage of the business, you're not making any money. Don't worry about that. You don't need that and now you're pretty much all set up for collecting orders on your store. The next thing we need to do is enable Shopify payments. So with this we're gonna go through we're gonna click activate Shopify payments. I need you to go through and fill out all this information. Why because this is what's going to apply you for a Shopify payments account. The payments account is where you're gonna take all your customers cards and take their payments and you just need it. Okay, so I want you to set that up and I want you to set up Paypal you're gonna be able to accept Paypal without having to do this because it's already Into your store, but just make sure to set it up so you can actually start receiving payouts from them. And other than that. There's not much else that you need to do. We can go ahead and we can buy our domain but we'll save that for the end. We can really say that this is all that you need to do for the settings on your store. There are little things that we're gonna do and there's a lot that we're gonna do when it comes to actually designing it. But this is this is really all that you need. You need to have your shipping settings done properly. You need to make sure that your payments account is set up and make sure you pick that Shopify plan. So that way you don't get your account shut down. You have three days to pick that Shopify plan. Yeah. Those are those are really the essential settings and in the next video will actually start building out the home page creating a logo getting the foundation for the actual look and feel of the store established. So don't bother the coaches with silly questions like that.
