This is the story of how I took this simple little product over $1.8 million in sales and then sold the company for a life-changing amount. And it's crazy because when I started that company in 2020, I was literally broke in debt sleeping on my mom's couch. And this is the strategy that I'm gonna be teaching to you guys in this crash course. So everything that I'm gonna be sharing with you, I've done it, but I wanna show you this story to give you some inspiration and give you a roadmap of where you're gonna go if you follow this journey.
This is like a screenshot of the day that I sold the business. I got an email, uh, with a document, I signed it, and then literally I woke up the next morning to a closing statement on escrow where this guy set me the wire, one of the happiest days of my life. And it's crazy because like I said, I had $30,000 in debt just two years prior when I started this business. So it goes to show that you're just one product away. As long as you follow the right strategy and stick with it, anything is possible.
The thing is, everybody looks at drop shipping as the way out, and it can be, but you have to understand that drop shipping is simply for a testing product. Everything I'm gonna teach you in this course today is going to be around testing product. It's from this process that we can find which product is the most successful and has the most opportunity for us to scale into actually building a brand, which is the long-term goal. That's how I was able to achieve the results that you just saw. But to succeed with dropshipping, you need a solid strategy.
Here are the five steps that I followed to make this happen. The first thing that I did was built a hybrid store and tested product. Now, a hybrid store is simply a broad niche store. Think of a store that is selling products for women, or a store that is selling fitness products or home goods. It's a store that's broad enough that allows you to sell a variety of products, but still has that branded niche feel. And in the later modules, I'm gonna break down how to make one of these stores step by step.
So that's the first thing I did, and I did that in the home goods niche. The whole purpose of this store is to test products. What that means is that we find products using the method I'm gonna teach you in this program. We put them on our store, we create an advertisement for that product, we launch it on TikTok or Facebook, and we see how well the market responds to the product. Are we getting sales? Are we getting clicks? Is the product successful or not? And in this phase, we're going to be able to identify a winning product. This, in my opinion, is the most important part of the process for beginners. As a beginner, you're not gonna know how to make a website, you're not gonna know how to find a product. You're not gonna know how to create ads, and those skills are what's going to allow you to make money. So that's why I made the entire course focused on the testing process. That's where you need to focus your entire energy when you're first starting out. That's the highest ROI thing that you can do.
The truth is the first product that you launch is not gonna be successful. Even in 2020, after I had years of experience with drop shipping, it still took me around five product tests. So I had one that popped off and that's when I eventually found the sleep band, which ended up being my successful product. It's probably gonna take you even more than five products, and that's something you need to understand. As a beginner, it's super important. Like I said, product testing is one of the highest ROI things you could do because it's gonna put you through the process of building a product page, finding a product, creating an ad, and every time you do those things, you're gonna get better at those skills. It's gonna move you closer to your goal. So just keep that in the back of your mind as you're going through this course. The highest ROI thing that I could do is find and test new product.
So after testing around five product, I found one that was successful, this sleek band. And when I launched this product, I almost immediately started getting sales and seeing some traction with it. When I started testing this product, I was mainly using different footage I found on YouTube or from other advertisers stitched together. And it was from that that I was able to get to a couple hundred dollars a day, but I just couldn't scale further. So I ordered the product on Amazon. I shot my own recreation of that video with my sister, and once I launched that video, the product took off to another level. Literally the days after launching that video, I was scaling past a thousand dollars a day. And it was at that point that I knew I had a product that I could really build something massive with.
So I went in, I branded this store to focus even more on this product up the sleep band. I changed the logo, I put better images that I shot myself, and it allowed me to raise the price and become the number one seller of this product. It made me look like the main person who was selling this product. And once I tried to scale, it worked. As you could see, this is the first month after doing this strategy, we scaled it to $70,000 in sales. Just the month prior I was testing products, trying to find something that worked. You could see right here at $0. And then following that, we scaled it to $70,000 in around a month, in a couple days.
So from there, I just went all in and took all the profits I was making. I didn't go spend them on lifestyle stuff, I reinvested them back into the business. So I hired somebody to help me with customer service. I ordered some stock of the product with my supplier. I'll show you guys how to do that. I put my logo on the product and from there it allowed me to scale this product massively because now I had happy customers, I had fast shipping, I had a good quality product, I had my own custom video, everything was ready to pop off. And in the years that followed, I was able to scale the store past $1.8 million in sales.
Now I'm now gonna get into the super advanced side of how I scaled to hundreds of thousand of dollars a month because that's not relevant to you right now. The main thing I need you to take away from this video is that drop shipping is just for testing products. But once we test those products over time, we're gonna be able to find a product that we can scale and build a real brand off of, just like I did here with the sleep in. The problem with most beginners is they start drop shipping and they don't test enough products. They don't actually put the reps in to become successful. In the span of two weeks of starting this new store, I tested five products. You guys go out and do months of product research without ever testing a single product, and that's why you don't see results.
So the key takeaway I want you to take from this video is that testing products is the main focus of this course, and it is the highest ROI thing that you can do in the beginning of your journey because it's going to improve your skills as a marketer and move you closer to finding your first winning product. And once you do find that product, your goal should be to double down on it, become the best seller that you can, and provide a good experience to your customers with good customer service, with fast shipping and a good quality product. And if you can combine that perfect storm, you can go on to build a multi seven figure business. It's simple, but it's not easy.
